Comment: I always desired to read this book but my time is so limited and I never reach this goal... until now! This is a good way to understand more about Dante's thought and his way to develop the personality trought the passage on Inferno, Purgatorio and Paradise.

Comment: Great for beginners (such as my self). This version of The Divine Comedy is great for it's easily read translation. The summary at the beginning of the cantos and the notes at the end were imperative in the understanding of the History throughout the book that Dante uses.
When I initially started looking for The Divine Comedy, I didn't realize there were different translations. Translation is extremely important for beginners and there ability to understand the poem. I started reading a different translation and the reading became a daunting. I changed to this version of the book, and discovered how amazing the Divine Comedy truly is.

Comment: I purchased this for a cousin. He heard about the book in school and was talking about it. He loves it. Took him only 3 days to read it.

Comment: Beware that the translation pictured is not a John Ciardi translation. The reviews following it make it sound like it is but if you are looking for him specifically, this copy isn't the one you want.
